  • Descrizione: The French government invites members of the American department of agriculture to demonstrate their knowledge of home economics during a four-month stay in the summer of 1919. Received by Ms. Jusier, the director of the Collège National d'Agriculture de Grignon, and by Ms. Babet-Charton, the director of the École Supérieure d'Économie, members of the American corps will be teaching their methods of sterilizing and drying preserves to the delegation of professors who have come for training. After the directors' inspection, the teachers demonstrate the American techniques to their students. General Pétain and Mr. Coulon, head of the Société coopérative de l'Aisne (Aisne Cooperative Society), accompany Ms. Dike, Commissioner of the American Committee, noting the benefits of the work done in these devastated regions. Given this success, it is decided that the project will be repeated the following year.
